Abstract

More Americans are diagnosed with a form of cardiovascular disease than any other country, making America the land of broken hearts. While the market is saturated with various medications and available operations, heart disease persists because pills and procedures don’t eliminate root of the problem: diet. In this video, I will discuss the role of trimethylamine oxide, which is introduced into the body through the consumption of meat and dairy, in heart-disease aggression due to its ability to interfere with cholesterol metabolism. However, one solution prevails to eliminate TMAO production and diminish the risk of heart disease: a plant-based diet.
